I saw a couple videos on YouTube (Know Your Gear) on this one and it seemed worth checking out for the price. The Finish was excellent. The Set-Up was pretty good, the action was a little high and I adjusted the Truss Rod a little. The Frets were good with no buzzing. I adjusted the intonation on 3 of the 6 strings but no big deal. I thought it sounded great for the money. I might try and "Coil-Split" the Pots on this one just for fun. I can't speak for all of them but I'm enjoying this one.

My unit showed up in great condition. It was playable out of the box. The fret ends were better than expected. Wood and finish were in very good shape. Tuners are okay, if a little fiddly, but ultimately what I expected. Probably the first thing I'll replace. Strings were pretty bad so while I changed them, I inspected the wiring which was simple and clean. Electronics will work fine I'm sure, but probably won't last too many years. Overall this guitar is amazing for the price. I remember in the 80's looking at sub $200 guitars and they were absolute trash. Heavy, clunky, ugly, and almost unserviceable. We truly live in a different age thanks to companies like Donner.
Kevin K.
Worth much more than the $168 that I paid for it, the finish and neck were emaculate, love aged maple finish a the skunk stripe on the neck, the tone on the bridge pickup was perfect, the neck pickup is a little muddy, but adjusting the tone on my amp,I could find a happy medium between both pickups.
Randy W.
I am very impressed with guitar. For the price, I find it to be a very good quality guitar that plays and sounds great.
Joseph F.
Except for the tunning gears the Guitar is great for the price. Sound amazing through my fender amp. Pickup are very good.

I’m a 50 year old beginner and this is the first electric guitar I purchased. I researched a lot of beginner guitars and Donner had great reviews. I’m very pleased with my purchase. The build quality is great! They service super and shipping was fast . I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quality instrument.
Eric A.
I was happy to see the guitar arrive early and in great condition. The neck was straight as an arrow and it looks as advertised. The action need a slight adjustment for my taste but wasn’t too bad. The pickups are ok and have decent tones. I don’t like the tuners or the cheap strings. I am planning to replace them soon. All in all, worth the price, you can’t go wrong. Great product!
Rick J.
Real solid instrument and the sound is perfect.
Alexander W.
I own several Telecasters from Fender and Schecter. This Donner holds its own with all of them and I am shocked by how much guitar I got for the dollar.
Clayburn P.
Received the Donner DJC-1000S Jazz Sunburst H-H Pickups Electric Guitar with Bag/Strap/Cable in good order!!! Wanted to change out the heavy gauge strings with some lighter gauge strings when the G string when the tuning head would not wind up!!! I asked Donner Customer Service the hole size of the tuner head post and never heard back from them!!!
I must say though that for a guitar under $200 it is a good deal!!! Other than that it seems like a good first electric guitar, or one that can be upgraded the way you want it!!!

I'm pleasantly surprised and extremely happy with this guitar. I have a Harley Benton SC450 vintage and a 2016 Fender player Stratocaster and wanted both in one guitar. I saw this and watched some good Youtube reviews and my wonderful girlfriend bought it for me. I didn't need to do anything but tune it up and play. The Youtube reviews all said to replace the strings right away and I have to disagree. I personally think the factory set of strings are exceptionally good strings and didn't leave my fingers dingy grey like the D'Addrio strings I use on my other guitars. They really stay in tune with a good hard workout like I gave them and the guitar all afternoon and late into the night. In fact I would like to get the same strings for my Stratocaster. This guitar feels like a mint condition 60s Fender that someone's letting me play but I don't have to give it back. I highly recommend it and would like to try more Donner instruments., especially the electric drums and acoustic drums as well.

Guitar arrived with broken D string tuner. An email exchange with Donner and they offered me a fair refund to have to repairs done locally. I used the refund to buy all new tuners from Amazon and now the guitar plays amazing. Could use a pro setup and it also arrived with several scratches as if it had been played and returned. Overall I’m in less than $100 and have a dual humbucker thin line tele. The neck pickup is hot and lovely. The bridge leave some room for improvement. The neck is absolutely gorgeous. The body is the only place on this guitar you can see it’s a “budget” ax. I’ll buy another Donner for sure.
Jeremy S.
I’ve been wanting something semi hollow body for a while but just couldn’t justify the expense. Dinner changed all of that with this incredible deal. The pedals I ordered previously blew me away and so has this guitar. I couldn’t be more happy with the quality and sound of this beauty and will definitely continue to be a loyal customer in the future.

I have purchased my third Donner guitar and they are all excellent instruments. Keep up the good work with your products!

Was pleasantly surprised the value for the money . thank you
William A.
Great guitar especially for the price, compares to much higher priced guitars.
Kasey
I bought one to make my take on a Cabronita. It comes with decent pickups, but I changed everything, except the bridge. Bone, locking tuners, Hot Nashville GFS pickups, new electronics.
Mick
I bought this based on reviews on YouTube, and thought it would be a great cheap Guitar to strip down, and modify (Fret level, Pickup swap, paint job, etc). But, after playing it through my gear, I wound up using it to record some solos on some songs for my upcoming YouTube channel. The bridge pup is so Metal! Neck has a great feel..yeah, there's some fret sprout, but there's actually zero fret buzz with the action low...I'm glad I grabbed it for the price I got it for..it looks funny sitting next to my Custom Shop LP...lol Now having said this..this is not exactly a pro guitar, and I don't know how it would fair in a gigging environment, but it's definitely not a toy!

I have a nice selection of Fender/PRS/Martin etc. guitars at home. I just wanted to try out one of these Chinese "knock off" guitars. So when this came up on Prime Day at around $115 I purchased it. I am very pleased at the construction of the guitar, the sound and the playability. The finish is decent, but nothing like a "brand name" guitar. Now...as to value, if you can purchase this discounted, It think it is an excellent value. At it's regular price, it's a ok value, maybe more like 4 stars. At full price you are really getting close to guitars like a Fender Squire or various used "name brand" guitars. It's not a bad deal at full price, but you may want to consider some others if you can stretch a bit or don't mind looking for a "brand name" used guitar. That said, it's a nice guitar for a beginner and like I said, it does sound nice and the neck feels great. Some folks complain about the tuners, but I can't say I have had any problems with them. I would recommend replacing the strings as soon as you get it, I didn't like the stock strings at all. I threw some Ernie Ball Super Slinkys on there and it transformed the feel. When I bought it, I thought it would be a fun guitar to mod, but it sounds and feels so good that I haven't messed with it. That said, since I have a number of other "nicer" guitars, it doesn't get played too much and I may move it along. Again, it would make a great guitar for a beginner, but also can be appreciated by a decent player, that doesn't have a lot of bucks too.
Robbie B.
Looks and plays good I had a Tele neck so I put it on it. Really like the way it looks. The original neck was good but I had one laying around so I changed it.
J.R. G.
The replacement guitar arrived undamaged. It is beautiful, the action is low, tuned easily and the intonation at the 12th fret is spot on. I love the weight of the guitar and the craftmanship. The finish on the maple neck is luxurious and make the guitar look like a million $$. This is my first Donner, but I already have my sights set on a DTC-100S.
Robert S.
Guitar arrived very quickly in perfect condition and played well right out of the box. Stays in tune very well. It was more than I expected from a guitar priced so low.
I enjoy playing it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Donner.
Michael T.
A great guitar for both pro & beginner. Very happy with the purchase.
Bradley S.
Very very decent guitar for the money. No sharp frets, finish looks very nice. Vintage style tuning pegs (non locking). Plays very nicely, set up well right out of the box. Quickish shipping (about a week). Excellent accessories. The gig bag is very very nice. So is the strap.
There was a weird smell from the sound hole though? Probably the finish? I'm also not a huge fan of a glossy fretboard. Sounds fine acoustic or plugged in.
Highly recommend throwing on some nice strings though. Factory strings are garbage. Got some D'addarios on it and it's a dream to play.
David E.
The workmanship on these guitars are 2nd
to none
Nathaniel S.
Beautiful clone of a Fender Thinking guitar... Action is about perfect, as is the dual coil pickups and sunburst finish... Overall, this guitar is way better than expected and I would personally recommend it to anyone looking for an electric guitar. It is an amazing guitar and plays like a dream.
David J.
This Thin Line Telecaster is really a nice guitar. The finish is flawless and the neck was straight with no fret sprout, The action was good and intonation was spot on. I am very happy with my purchase. I am 68 year old who decided to take up the guitar in retirement.
Thanks Donner for quality product at a reasonable price.
Dan Keesling
As are most of the inexpensive lines of instruments, this one also needed a full set-up. Had to level a couple of frets, set relief and action height. Other than that, it's well worth the money. It plays as well as any other instrument I have. The pickups are not of professional grade, but I certainly didn't expect them to be. Excellent choice for a beginner.
Jimmie H.
I ordered the guitar on Friday from the Donnerdeal.com website, and it arrived Monday afternoon on an Amazon truck. My first impression was positive. The guitar shipped in a typical trapezoid-shaped box, but was wrapped in a thin foam bag then placed inside the gigbag prior to being boxed up.
Upon inspection I could find no major flaws at first, so I tuned it up and started playing. Everything worked fine. I did some measurements, the neck was a little too straight, the action was a little high (3/32") and the pickups were a little tall. Intonation was spot on. The neck is very nice, Classic Vibe-like in appearance (glossy, but a little less amber), has a C or U profile, feels thick-ish, but the nut is only 41 mm wide. Comfortable despite the narrow nut. Absolutely Zero high frets or fret sprout. There is some paint overspray inside the F-hole. I didn't weigh it, but it doesn't feel particularly heavy or light. Probably 8 lbs. or so. There is no serial number that I could find, but the neck plate is very nice and appears to be laser-etched or something.
While playing, the strings turned my fingers black, but otherwise held tune. The tuners are some kind of Kluson knock-off, but have a low ratio, and aren't the nicest I've ever used. They are just ok. The electronics work and sound fine, but they include a green PCB switch and no-name dime-size pots, and generic covered ceramic humbuckers. No shielding. No surprise, really. The nut was really square and had sharp corners, and the Low E and B-string slots weren't quite deep enough.
I changed the strings to my favorite brand/gauge. In the process, 4 of 6 ferrules came off with the strings, the other two dropped onto the floor. I dabbed a little glue on them and secured them (at least they were in a straight line). I also cleaned up the nut a little, and all the other setup stuff (action, pickups, truss rod, etc.). While I was working, peeling off plastic, etc. I noticed some finish flaws (visual, non-tactile) on the fretboard and some dents (pointing up) in the bridge pickup cover, like something was trying to get out.
The accessories are not bad. I didn't even unwrap the cord or strap, I don't need them. The gig bag, while not top quality, is far better than any "free" bag I've ever seen with a budget guitar. Probably would cost $25 if you bought it separately. The cord does have metal ends, and appears to be of ok quality.
I would certainly recommend one of these if you like to tinker. It's a fun guitar that plays well and sounds ok. A decent -but not stellar- non-standard Tele.
S. R.
Good value. Needed tweaks to intonation and truss rod adjustment and a couple of high frets addressed.
Sounds great!
Casey L.
Honestly huge bang for the buck. Guitar holds tuning, plays pretty well, and sounds fantastic. Looks pretty nice too! After changing the strings and setting the action and intonation, it literally plays like a dream! Very happy with my purchase. Probably gonna snag another soon.
David J.
I was so impressed with the guitar I received the other day. The body finish was very nice but the neck was really nice. Everything on this guitar was well done. Out of the box the neck was straight, I thought I might have to lower the action but to my surprise it feels really good. Even the strings are not bad but I will change those in a couple weeks. Thanks Donner for making a quality guitar with a very affordable price tag.
Percival Pringle
Not a great guitar but it amazes me that people can make and ship a guitar for $107. Decent fretwork and it sounds pretty good. It's easy to play so this would make a great beginner instrument.
Ronald P.
Saw this reviewed and recommended by Tyler Larson on YouTube channel Music is Win
So I bought one and thing it's terrific. Like Tyler I have many guitars including Fender, Gibson, Ibanez and PRS but this is a great guitar at a fraction of the big boys' cost.
Joseph L.
The guitar came in good condition
Was packaged well. The instrument sounds good for the price. It did need a bit of a set up
Customer
Like others, I've owned many guitars over my 30 years of playing and bought this as kind of a couch guitar based on a youtube review saying it was good for the money. It's honestly much better than that though. Great sounding pickups, great feeling neck, nice finish work, and overall great guitar that easily compares to $500-$1,000 guitars I've owned.
Ray M.
My 7th guitar purchase and I think it is terrific. Would never know it is a $150 guitar. Only time will tell, but seems well made with no obvious flaws. Very easy and fun to play, with a really nice sound. The only complaint is the strings are junk. They felt cheap and were filthy. Snapped one in the first hour. Replaced them, and all was well. Will have to keep an eye on the tuners, as a couple seem to not grip the strings really well. May have been that the new strings just need more stretching. I see me playing this guitar more than some of my others that cost 4 to 5 times more.
Rick Balthazor
I have been playing guitar since the 60's and have had several hundred and can say that this Donner is better than guitars I have paid 0ver $375 for. I quality is outstanding ..the fit and finish are comparable to many main stream brands. The neck is outstanding with the smoothest frets I have seen. This brand is a well kept secret.. so far! I now own 3 Donners.
Toby Quezambra
Really solid guitar for the money. Tuning machines work well and smoothly, holds tune. Finish is amazing. came with decent strings and great action set up. Solid and well-built. I can’t believe this quality of a guitar for around $150. Very happy with this purchase.
estill greer
I have NEVER before bought a guitar without playing it. I've never bought a guitar online. This guitar is very nice! I'd recommend it to anyone. If you can get your hands on one, buy it! Neck is great, it's very light, the pickups are great! No issues at all, straight out of the box. Super nice product!
Jared W.
Guitar was great, love the humbucker sound. Only problem was rattling which is normal with new guitars so no complaints. I fixed for under ten bucks so not a problem. Thanks donner
John M Klei
tuners are difficult and ought to be a bit better. I set the action and intonation a bit after changing the strings to eight gauge, which is much easier for a beginner or someone older to deal with. Awesome looking guitar and really nice and light. Neck is a little narrow and not too thick. I can switch between this and my Ibanez artist series with no concerns at all. I also tweaked my Donner acoustic, lowering the action and switching to lighter strings. Donner is not perfect, but they are really good for the most part. I have been playing for 56 years.

I own over 50 guitars, This is a nice guitar, great sound......
Parker Tessier-Morse
I still can't get over how absolutely beautiful and amazing this thing plays and sounds. the maple neck feels great, the frets are smooth and easy to play. the action was a little high but a quick adjustment is all it needs. not only was the guitar amazing the gig bag was surprisingly high quality bad the strap was very thick and strong, also the cable feels very sturdy and noiseless honestly a great cable (and that's coming from someone that uses road hog cables) . I highly recommend this to any guitar player at any skill level!

Added this guitar to my arsenal
Jose S.
Great Finish on the product, needs a bit of a set up but it’s expected, has held tune remarkably well
A u.
Just received it, good craftsmanship, no sharp fret edges, very nice play after changed the strings. Absolutely value for money. Placed the order with doubts, and now impressed.
Valerie Richter
Lets get the bad out of the way 1st. The vintage tuning keys are horrid.they look vintage style.but they have no recessed hole as per normal.for the strings to lock in.just a very shallow dip, maybe 2mm deep.low strings hold just enough.high E B and G would not lock in and it snapped my new high E 1st attempt at winding.not even sure how they strung the thing properly at the factory? Now all of that aside.i have no idea how they made this so affordable.I am guessing it was luck of the draw on this neck.the figuring on the maple is that of a very higher priced instrument. Frets are finished fine.no scrapes,no grit,no buzz.kind of some take on a narrow tall fret.not a medium/jumbo.finish work is great.except one small spec of dirt or something under the finish at the 18th fret under the low E. The F hole could have been finished a little better.but not ugly or sloppy.paint and finish overall great. The pickups really shine the more dirt you add.way more articulate than i expected.they are "ok" clean.more than serviceable for blues and rock.but definitely not a jazz guitar friendly pickup set. I already stripped the stock tuning machines off and ordered a set of Wilkinson deluxe vintage 6 in line tuners for it(made by Gotoh).from what measurements I've taken the should be a direct drop into the stock ferules. All though they come with a set of ferules if not. This guitar,at least the example i received.minus the tuning keys.is at least as good as my 50's classic vibe tele.but much lighter. Cv has alnico pickups.so it wins on that dept.for cleans.but the donner is less than half the price of the squier CV.alot of value for the price..maybe unbeatable? Would buy again for sure if something happened to it.dont be afraid of this purchase.just buy the new tuning machines with the guitar. or wait to take the crappy stock strings off until you get the new tuners in.
Steve H.
Beautiful sunburst finish with classic Telecaster lines and semi-hollow body tone. Yeah...
Kevin Curry
My other guitar is a Gretsch Brian Setzer Edition single cutaway hollowbody. At $3500, I expected it to be perfect. I bought this Donner guitar for a total of $145 delivered, after $28 coupon, in order to tear it down and rebuild it as a testbed for ideas on what I want in a handbuilt custom Telecaster. Now I am having second thoughts. It is simply too nice a guitar to tear down. It arrived in good shape, in a good state of setup, and was entirely playable right out of the box. Neck profile feels good. Sounds quite good, not at all what I expected at this pricepoint. I may polish the frets, but this is not urgently needed. I had to put on my 4.0-diopter close work glasses to see the flaws in this guitar, none of which affect playability. Upshot: I'm impressed. One will need to progress a great deal in order to feel hemmed in by the limitations of this guitar. Not just a guitar for rank beginners or students.
Michael M.
Greatly surprised at the fit and finish. Much better than a Fender that I purchased the prior month. Fender was sent back and the Donner was kept. I will be upgrading the hardware and electronics only because i have them. The guitar is fine as it it’s shipped. Packed very well. Gig bag is much nicer than expected. A true bargain. It plays beautifully and I only did a string height adjustment. But, I unwrapped it and played it as it came with no problems. Definitely worth buying a Donner guitar.
Jennifer O.
Ordering was easy and seamless. Guitar was packed beautifully to prevent damage and arrived within 5 days.
Roland
The guitar itself is very good for the money. Alot of folks get caught up in the "if I buy a 1000 dollar fender or Gibson it will make my a better guitar player" but if you're like me and just want to learn some tunes and have some fun this one is for you. Very easy to play and sounds good . Note.. change the strings NOW about amazon itself. I bought the guitar for 169.00 with a 20.00 coupon that bought it down to 149.00 the guitar was late so i could amazon and while looking up the guitar again i found the price went down to 159.00 with a 20.00 coupon so it was 139.00 amazon said they would call me back the next day and adjust my bill but they did not now the price went back up to 159.00 (clever) amazon can keep the money but from now on anything over 50.00 ill buy local, i don't like bait and switch tactics . especially when i spend lots on money on amazon.
Richard B.
This is a great playing guitar right out of the box, after changing strings to a heavier jazz set and intonation and action adjustment it plays the way I like it. This is a great value in a guitar for a beginner or pro for a backup guitar. I highly recommend this guitar and Donner products.
Donner Rocks!
Richard B.
I’ve got a Tel. In the same configuration as the Donner. Played them back to back for comparison. The Donner has a wider tone variation and less volume drop between bridge and neck pickups. This is surprising considering the difference in price is so great. Intonation and setup where spot on. Fret ends well dressed, no hum or static detected, sounds great, plays great, the only problem I detected was, it might have a ground problem, this is easily remedied. All in all, I’d say this is a great guitar for a beginner or anyone looking for a second guitar to give them a backup. It’s not just a beginners guitar, I wouldn’t have any problem gigging with it. I’d prefer that it was in white, if you offer it in other colors I’d be in the market for another. Sunset is my least favorite.

Wow. Previously purchased another similar guitar ( different brand and seller). I returned that because of poor quality. This Donner guitar knocked my socks off. Gorgeous workmanship and unmatched attention to detail. These guys really care about sending out a top quality product. Value is excellent. It may be called a beginner guitar but has the look and feel of a pro. I cannot say anything about the hardware or playability since I have not had the opportunity to plug in yet.
Devin M.
Fantastic guitar for the price. Better quality than any Squier guitar imo.
KELLY K.
I sure love my new Donner Designer Series "Thinline" Electric guitar! It took very little to set it up perfectly straight away. Amazing feel and playability and has a gorgeous finish that is well detailed. Amazing guitar!
bob b.
At 76 years old and having not played any musical instrument, I decided I would attempt to learn the guitar but did not want to spend a lot of money. My research guided me to the Donner guitars because of the many good reviews and positive YouTube videos. After receiving this guitar, I was very pleased with the quality of the build and finish this guitar has. The workmanship is outstanding and I look forward to spending a lot of time learning how to play it.
Antonio Puente
Really nice guitar for student and pro!!! .why , because for $ 160.00 you Will get a guitar that has all the fit Finnish and good working hardware you will need to start learning, practicing,or playing.Being learning since 1984.the least expensive to the more expensive guitars need a set up , if u lack the know how, have it done at G.Center. I'm out ,Your Amphibious Guitar player
Michael Isaac Martinez
Awesome, nice fretwork. Was thinking about changing the pups but, gonna leave it alone? I'm happy with it.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I was amazed at this guitar right out of the box. It is a classically beautiful guitar. Once tuned, it was fun to play. The strings are light and was able to bend for a lot of cool effects. This guitar will surprise you for the money. See video for guitar in action!
Roman Danilo B.
Great guitar at great value, the guitar didn't really need any adjustments at all out of the box, and first thing i did after playing it for bit was plug it into my recording system and i was able to get a good rich tone with ease.
Peter M.
Great guitar! I was looking to add a hollow body to my collection, and for the price, you can't go wrong. There was a problem with the guitar initially, but Donner's customer service made it right. This is a fun guitar to play, and I look forward to upgrading some of the hardware over time, but out of the box, it is a great guitar.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Bought this for my husband as a birthday gift and he liked it so much. The strings are smooth , no roughness at all, the sound. Perfect bundle deal. The color is so standard and glossy . Its really nice for what you pay for.

I'm going to be honest, I was very hesitant to buy this at first as I've never heard of the brand and the price seemed too good to be true. However, as soon as I opened the box I knew I had made the right choice!! The finish is phenomenal, I love the sunburst finish along side the cut away in the body. It truly looks fantastic! Looks are one thing.. But the playability truly blew me away! Right out of the box it was ready to go, it barely needed to be tuned and play like butter. Don't get me wrong it is not a $1000 guitar, but for a beginner this is a great deal. Even for more experienced players this guitar is great as with a few tweaks and modifications it can EASILY play and sound like $1000 guitar. Highly recommended, great buy!
Brian B.
I actually bought this guitar because another one I had been waiting for in this style from another company had never showed. The Donner one was cheaper so I wasn't expecting much, but it was there in days in perfect shape ready to play, and it came with a gig bag and strap the more expensive one did not. I have been playing guitar for over 60 years and this was my most pleasant surprise to date.
bing
I bought this for my son who wanted one for a long time. It is beautiful and very well-made for the price point. My brother- in-law, who is a professional acoustic/electric guitar player gave his seal of approval on this guitar. It is perfect for beginners and I'm sure my son will have so much fun with his newfound toy.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is my first musical instrument and honestly I bought this to use as decoration for my room. For that purpose it's a beautiful piece. I don't know how to play much but when I got it I tried learning. The feel and build quality is really nice and even just pretending to play, it feels really nice in the hand. I hope to start learning soon but as of now I love it and I have received numerous compliments from all of my friends about this guitar. I would definitely recommend this as it look absolutely gorgeous and it definitely caught my attention as well as the attention of all of my friends.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. My son wants to learn electric guitar but we didn't want to put a whole lot of money towards one if it's not something he would stick with long-term. But didn't want to get him a crappy one either that would make it harder or less fun to learn. This one seems delivers in all aspects. It's well-built and looks really awesome (and not cheap-looking). Comes with a soft case to protect it a bit and the strap and cord for an amp (amp not included) are nice to have as well. Tunes well, strings are durable, and I think it'll work out great.
-jc
Playable as is. But I lowered the action on mine it plays better. After changing the strings, I appreciate the pickup sounds, their descent. The neck and frets are good, no need to fix.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I wanted to learn a new instrument since I've kind of mastered the ukulele. I decided to buy this electric guitar because I thought it would be cool to learn how to play it. The first thing that caught my eye was the craftsmanship, it's just beautiful. I would've never thought that I can get such a nice guitar for such a low price. The electric guitar has a nice color pattern, everything is smooth with no defects, I just fell in love with it. I found it pretty cool how it comes with the amplifier cable and the bag to carry the guitar around. I just wished it also came with some guitar picks but I guess I can get that myself. It's also pretty comfortable to play and hold, no problems there. For the price, this is a steal. I might end up upgrading once I get better but for now, this is a great beginner guitar.
Levi Goldberg
Right out of the box I fell in love with this guitar! It’s a really nice guitar for starters. The strings are very good quality, It has really good action, and I really like the sound of it. For only $160 you’re getting an amazing deal!
Anu
It was a gift for my boyfriend and he loves it. Love with the color, very nice color combination. Sound is amazing. Comes with the bag cover which is also a very good material.
fizza
This guitar is very good for beginners as you dont need to worry about as this guitar is fairly easy to play. Thin handle helps to hold comfortably. Sounds is amazing... looked for so many guitars but this one is the best in price function and looks . Love to learn music on this guitar.
Upasana
Okay this is not bad at all. I am not a good artist but it’s good for beginners and I am still learning from Youtube. It works really well and sounds coming better from it. Plus it comes with beg too. I leaned the tune from youtube and it’s good. This is the best instrument which I always wants to learn and impress my hubby.
Jet Li
Great beginner guitar, compared to my fender this is amazing value for your buck. Sounds amazing and you can just see the detail in the instrument. Frets have a nice smooth feel to them, amazing design paired with a decent amp you cannot go wrong. 100% would buy again.
Neil T.
This was a great purchase.... Where else are you going to get a thinline telecaster copy at this price and quality?! I am overall impressed ... so much so that I did a YouTube review... see it here: https://youtu.be/3dw49Kx8zbg

To start things off the 5 stars are based on the fact that this is a approximately $160 t-type electric guitar. It is an amazing value in my opinion, and so I'm reviewing it with the modest price in mind.
Out of the box, the guitar I received was certainly playable, but benefited from some string height adjustment. The truss rod seems pretty much dead on where I would have set it. The pickups sound pretty good, and great for this price range. Fit and finish on mine is excellent for a guitar in this price range. If you expect perfection for this price, you may be disappointed though, since mine had some very minor scratching in the finish(this makes no difference to me,) but the fret ends were smooth and burr free, which is great and make the guitar neck nice to play on. All the hardware works properly, tuners, saddles, switch and controls etc.
Now I really like my Donner DJC-1000S, but I actually bought it as a "throw in the car and don't worry about it" stand-in for my more expensive thinline t-type guitar, and the fact is, the more expensive guitar(at almost a $1000) is a nicer guitar, so don't expect this $160 usd guitar to be identical to or better than a $500+ usd guitar.
But if you keep in mind the price, I think you'll be happy, and if you're anything like me at all, you'll probably be amazed at what a nice guitar you can get for $160 usd.

Would recommend this easily.

Been playing for years and this pays and sounds great

The guitar seems to be ok. It plays alright. The pickups are pretty hot and microphonic, but that’s neither a plus nor a minus. The fret board is nice and straight. Overall finish is good. My only complaint is that the strings buzz like crazy. I’ve been trying to adjust the action since I got it a few weeks ago. I have to set it very high on the heavier strings.

Love the sound, tone & playability of this axe right out the box! Little adjustment needed if at all to sound like a pro fast. Must try it out!

This is an excellent guitar for a beginner to learn and improve your skill. It has two dual hamburger pickups. It is made of maple wood and it a pretty sunset color. It has a pickup switch, a volume knob and two different tone knobs. The neck is slim and nice to handle. The wooden finish is shiny and elegant. The strings are clean tone and of a good quality. The fret position of the fret board makes it easy to identify the note and play. It is fun to play and would make a great gift for anyone who wants to learn the electric guitar. Looking forward to improve my playing skills with this electric guitar!

This is a great quality guitar. My 10 year old has been asking to play guitar so we got it for her birthday and she enjoys practicing by using the app on her iPad.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. My daughter really loved it. The craftsmanship is amazing. I didn't expect this good quality for the price. She is taking online class But the only thing I noticed is guitar pick isn't available. I wished it's available too. Apart from it, it's wonderful Can't resist but to add the video of this pretty asset.

I was really excited when I grabbed ahold of it and took it out of the padded gig bag. It was also inside a padded wrap bag inside the gig bag. I’m going to give it too you straight. This thing is beautiful! Also It is made as good as any fender I have. It has no flat frets. It comes ready too play except a quick tune. This guitar has a toasted almond neck that is finished and it feels incredible in your hand. The sound is at least as good as anything I own. I’m so impressed by the quality. I have literally purchased guitars for $750-$1,000 that don’t sound as good as this. Thank you to Donner for putting out such an incredible guitar at an affordable price. If you are a beginner or a professional you couldn’t go wrong here. Shred on!

Bescause to covid I was looking for something new to learn and I started looking to learn guitar and I found this guitar which i think is best suite for me. They gave lot of stuff in the box. I love the wooden material and the quality is superb. They already setup everything for me so, I just need to open the box and start to play the guitar. I love the guitar bag, it's quality is superb and they gave you facility to wear like a backpack so traveling willbe easy. Last but not the least the color combination of the guitar is amazing.

Aiming for a 70s Vibe, Donner knocked this one out of the park. Great Neck, zero fret sprout. Vintage Kluson style tuners hold tune with no slipping. Nut was very well cut, as is the 3-ply pickguard. Solid Center black, semi-hollow F hole was very nicely cut and routed 0 slop finish very well-appointed all the way around. Chrome covered Twin humbuckers, 1 volume 1 tone and 3-way pickup selector switch. Fixed bridge holds intonation well needed very little adjustment out of the box. Town wise, the pickups are moderately low output best suited for Rolling Stones type Rock. Volume and tone pots turn smoothly no issues output Jack feels firm when connected all in all this is a very good beginner's guitar. Would recommend this for new players intermediate and advanced players looking for a nice modifying platform. For $160 this thing punches way above its price class. Grab one before they're gone.

My son has been wanting to pick up playing guitar for a while. He has been playing both trombone and violin at school for years and didn’t really have the time for more instruments. He is transitioning out of playing violin and asked again about guitar lessons. We do have an acoustic guitar that he plucks away at occasionally, but the cool factor of an electric guitar is really what he wanted. This guitar was recommended to us as a reasonably priced one to start out on. You never know what you’re going to get when you buy online but the other user videos sealed it for us. It has really nice warm tone and resonant sound, similar to an acoustic guitar which is what we wanted. The thinline, semi-solid style was recommended to us as a good interim between solid and hollow bodies. It is much better suited for a beginner, with less feedback concern than hollow bodied. The guitar only required minor tuning when it arrived. It tuned easily and seems to hold its tune quite well which is appreciated as a beginner. I think this guitar is totally playable without an amp but I did order him a mini amp to go with it as well until I’m sure he’ll stick with it. The build quality of this guitar is quite exceptional, even when compared to more expensive options. It is beautifully finished and a solid instrument. It comes with a nice carrying case, though we have ours proudly on display since it is so pretty. It also comes with a 10’ cable.

I bought this guitar because I was interested in learning but didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a first purchase, and with a value under $200, it can’t get better than this. You really get more than what you paid for. The guitar is comfortable and easy to use, sounds great on Amp, and not to mention has a nice appearance. I just started learning but this guitar definitely makes it easier. I can see myself using this guitar and upgrading it as my experience increases too.

Like many reviewers, i’m impressed with the overall build quality-aside from the machine heads, etc. The guitar was just left on my front porch-the delivery person didn’t even ring my doorbell! Despite this, it arrived in good shape-due in part to the nice gigbag that, i’m sure, offered protection. The pickups are a bit noisy and it’s obvious the cavity was not sheilded-as these hot humbuckers HUM. Overall, it’s a good deal for the cheapest thinline Tele you’ll probably find on the market.
