Great unit. I use it mostly for vintage delays but it will do much more.
I do question the recommendation of a 500ma power supply as the spesc say it draws 140ma. Even the T.C.Electronics Flashback (that this unit seems to be modeled after) only draws 100ma with all it's programmable capabilities.
Also, as long as this unit is plugged into a power source it is on as it stays hot. I find this true of several Mooer & Donner mini pedals.

Digital delay mode sounds indistinguishable from Boss DD-6 (I tested them back to back with an A/B/Y box). Plus the extra modes are great (analog, tape, lofi). Absolutely awesome for the price! Highly recommend.
Justin B.
The price for the gate and reverse alone is worth it.
Wayne W.
This is a great pedal

Fast shipping. Got it the fifth days after I order it. Sounds is not as clear as the expansive one that his uncle has. But this little pedal does it’s job will. Easy to use. All the functions work as described. Nothing fancy. My 11 years old son can use this to lead ‘Unstoppable God’ with his beginner electric guitar in his Children Worship. Beautifully done. And fun to play with other songs too. Got it with a discounted price, doesn’t hurt my wallet too. Highly recommended if you don’t picky with sound quality.
Stephen C.
This pedal sounds great. And it fits nicely on my board.
G. Moore
The pedal looked ok but the description failed to mention that there was no power supply included or wouldnt take a battery. You could buy a power supply at another £27 but it had 10 outputs. Disappointed
Tim
Sounds great and really good build quality. Very happy with all my Donner pedals
Dwight C.
The Echo Square sounds every bit as good as the Flashback, and is a very cost effective addition to my board that allows me to switch back and forth between different delay styles. Glad I added it!
Brandon M.
Echo delay with a lot more
Modulation sound to work with. I even stacked it with another delay awsome.
No noise, verry solid well made. Works great through through evh 5150 stealth amp . Im buying more soon
Awsome.
Thank you
Kevin FitzMaurice
Nice quality, very small. Unit hissed when plugged in, even when shut off. Moved it in the stack and most of the noise went away. Don’t know if it was affected by my power supply, but other units on the rack are unaffected. Nice to get an instruction paper with it for us newbies.
John R.
Great mini multi-delay. Great delay sounds at half the price of other delay pedals
Rob S
The pedal works and sounds great.
Bob S.
Fits nicely in my mini pedal board. Still experimenting with it but I found some great sounds to use at my live shows!
Erik E.
I use the echo square as an always on ultra short delay in the fx loop in my combo amp. I dont think anybody knows it's there, they just hear my bigger sound.
Brian Coveney
Totally cool! Instant classic. The ‘time’ knob is the one that you’ll play with most. A whole lot of great sounds. Something for everyone I think.
Fred W.
What a great price! I love all the different sounds I can get.
Richard R.
Love it! Especially on the modulation setting. Running my Mountain Dulcimer through it to the Donner acoustic amp. What a sound!
Alan W.
These Donner mini pedals are a great bang for the book. Built well, and work nicely.
David S.
Donned Echo Square produces great sounding effects from tape delay to analog and digital delay and cool sounding sweep effect. It even has reverse and LoFi effects. This pedal is good for every type of music from jazz to rock. I highly recommend you give this a try before purchasing a high dollar pedal of similar design as this may be all you need to add to your tones.
Lance S.
I love those 3 pedals I have gotten from Donner. Flange an Overdrive and the Delay have been very good.
I will buy more as they seem very high quality. ❤
Carlos S.
My new Echo Square pedal absolutely blew me away. I am still exploring new sounds with the different modes and adjustments. Excellent pedal for the price.
Richard
This pedal is amazing! I use it with my mountain dulcimer and it makes the sound ring! The mod setting is so awesome.

I like quirky things. I also like it when said quirky things cause me to adapt and change directions according to their idiosyncrasies. As a composing, recording, and improvising musician, I tend not to seek out gear that does what I want it to do, as much as I like to find gear that can create colors and character of its own that I can add to my ever-expanding paint box - so it makes me think outside the box. I find the Donner Echo Square to be like this.
— It does do basic echo quite nicely with its Digital, Analog, and Tape settings. With these the character differences are subtle and pleasing, and the box handles runaway feedback of the echoes in a nice way. — Since it’s a digitally based pedal, when playing with the delay time as an effect to smear the audio, it has an interesting glitchiness that behaves somewhat unexpectedly for making odd sounds. I like that. :) — The Mod setting is a nice chorus-like affect on the delay, cool for some lush chord sounds on guitar. The Sweep setting is like a repeating flange or phase shift, always and only sweeping in one direction, starting from dark and closed to brighter and opened. (I have a BOSS PH-3 phase shifter that has a similar setting as an option.) — In having this happening with each echo, it’s a unique effect, and changes somewhat dynamically relative to the delay time, feedback, and how you play. In this it can give some unexpected results. - The Lofi setting is quite digital sounding, and can behave a little like some light ring modulation. This, too, results in strangeness per the settings and how one plays. It’s not a heavy effect, but it’s definitely an interesting one for those that enjoy not-so-typical noise making. The last setting is a literal reverse if what you put into it. For example, if you slide a note up the neck, the delay flips it and slides it down while sounding the attack backwards. — This is an interesting effect, but is a bit tricky to anticipate, as it changes with delay time and feedback, as well as with what you play going into it. It’s probably the hardest setting to master, but that makes it more interesting to experiment with.
— Due to the less than a full second of delay time available one shouldn’t expect uber galactic spaciness, but I was having a blast playing with finger-picked arpeggiated chords in the Sweep setting, while running my guitar first into a Donner Alchemy on a moderate flanger setting at the slowest modulation rate. This allowed the constantly upward Sweep setting of the Echo Square to catch the flanged guitar at different points of filtering, as each Sweep echo at the longest delay time repeated to create an almost The Edge sounding wash, but with 2 layers of filtering.
If one plays to accommodate the colors of the Echo Square, a lot of really cool sounds are here to be found. A longer delay time would be nice, but for most guitaring - for solos and rhythm stuff, it does a very nice job at a tad over 800ms or less. Plus, the short slap backs sound great, and even some weird inside-a-can digital reverb-y metallic sounds are fun to play with. The only “con”, which isn’t much of one, is that the mix knob gets to 50% very quickly at about 9 o’clock, as opposed to the expected 12 noon. So it’s easy to over-shoot blending wet with dry by turning it too far. But, on the other hand, a purely wet signal is very wet, and seems even to give a boost to the delayed audio. This can have its advantages when using any of the non-traditional settings.
In short, for a nice price, it’s a good basic delay for any instrument that needs a little sweetening when not needing longer delay times. But it also has some quirks and oddities about it for the experimenting, creative mind. —— I’m pleased with it. No battery power, but I don’t mind that. These pedals are solidly built and a bargain. This is my 4th Donner pedal [Alchemy, White Tape, Dynamic Wah, Echo Square & a multi-pedal power supply]. I’ll continue to eagerly watch for whatever other curious offerings Donner puts out. The weirder the better ^_^

Love the tone that this pedal produces
Chris d.
This pedal is AWESOME!! I was skeptic for one with the size, but once I got to power it up and use it, WOW. So many echo variations, I could have played for hours on end.
Wolfs Customs proudly recommends this product. Can't wait to have and try more Donner products.
Victor S.
Durable and really nice looking pedal box , nice price too for a Digital Delay , havent used yet but so far so good , thanks Donner!
Rob S.
Cool delay effects. Great value.
Thad B.
It’s packed up right now but it’s so compact and it sounds great!

Picked this up along with a Donner Mod Square. Of the two, this is the more useful, IMO. Like the Mod Square, sturdy metal case, but micro plastic knobs probably wouldn’t hold up to rough use. Note, power takes 9v @ 140ma. So, best run via an isolated PS. No soft switch, so it clicks (tho not audible through the chain). The micro controls are tricky to fine tune. If a low level delay is desired, the Mix needs to almost be off. Repeats is similar. The effects are actually pretty useful. I purchased mainly for the digital, analog, tape settings, but find myself using Sweep (an interesting envelope filter applied to the repeats) and Reverse (not as good as TC Flashback, ie) as well. The lofi voice has an interesting sound if turning repeats all the way off and tinkering with the time. Almost a ring mod. True bypass so tone isn’t affected when the pedal is off. Also, there is not a volume drop when the pedal is engaged (as with some pedals).
Daniel R.
The Echo Square is really a nice sounding delay pedal. True bypass and very quiet. Its affordability makes it a very low risk purchase.
Dan H.
I absolutely love delay pedals, and have several (one for travel, one for home use, one for recording), and I thought this was just going to be a beater for when I needed to mistreat my gear. Imagine my surprise when it quickly became my favourite pedal I own. I absolutely love the digital and analog settings, and the others can be very fun to mess around with and combo with other pedals to create whatever interesting sounds you want. I powerfully recommend adding this one to your arsenal.

I'm a Donner fan !!
Steven L.
Works well! Great price!
Hans F.
Great sound! I love it!
Mackenzie
Solid digital delay with tons of options to explore at an amazing price!
Randy T.
Great pedal, super super quiet. Some cool delay options and the analog and digital are exactly the the boss when I a/b them.
Erik E.
The effect isn't wild crazy but the overall sound is good. That's what's important to me.
Charles R.
Very good delay. It is replacing another famous brand in the effects chain. The seven types of delay are distinct and correctly described.
Alfred L.
I just needed a simple slap-back delay for my amplified harmonica rig for that classic Chicago blues sound. The Donner Echo Square does the trick perfectly. The thing is simple to use, whisper quiet and built like a little tank. I plan to get another one for my electric violin rig. At this price you can't go wrong!
Jeffrey R.
The Donner Echo square is small but packs a lot of features, I am quite happy with the quality of this pedal, I also have the verb square, and the Circle looper, witch I feature on my YouTube channel, it is fantastic. Donner seems to be a very good product, well designed heavy duty and packed full of features.
Jozef O.
Fantastic better then I expected
Darwin P.
After purchasing the Echo Square, I tried many different combinations on each dial selection. They all sound unique and make my guitar experience even better. I watched demonstrations by two different guitar players on YouTube before making my purchase. Both players chose different settings for each dial selection. I liked what I heard, so I bought the delay pedal by Donner. I was very satisfied with the sound.
Jimmie Bradley
Received it two days earlier, which was a great deal, but no power cord came with it. Which now I have to find a cord to match the unit.

Great little pedal for the money!
Daniel M.
This pedal is amazing. It will do almost anything the comparable Boss DD-7 will do at just over a quarter of the price. The digital setting is crisp and clean; the analog soft and smooth. The Tape and Lo-fi both have a nice warmth and decay to them, while the Mod, Sweep, and Reverse settings are filled with shimmering, swirly goodness. Tiny and well built, Donner's Echo Square offers a lot of bang for the buck. I was looking for a good delay pedal and found a great one. Highly recommended, and I'll be buying more from Donner in the (very near) future.

I love the versatility it gives me in changing the sound quality. It takes the sound from ho-hum to really amazing. Nice features, small footprint and amazing value for the money.

Item works as described.

Like any long -term guitarist ( played for 55 years, started at age 11), I'm constantly in search of the "perfect" guitar tone. ( Or in my case, TONES). I like serious tonal versatility. I actually not only bought the echo 7, but also bought the blues drive after extensive research. Both of these pedals please me VERY MUCH. I also have a fulltone o.c.d., crybaby wah, a couple analog danelectro pedals, and an absolute myriad of old digitech, mxr, and ibanez pedals. I really like the different echo sounds from the echo 7. I set my donner blues drive for a good 70's style overdrive and my o.c.d. for a minimal tube style edge, and when I stack the 2 of them, HOLY COW!! Unlike so many younger guitarists, I am NOT a scooped midrange fan! Sounds too "square wave" to me. I love the sing and sustain of upper mids!!!
One big family!
Seller was awesome! Came new, well packaged, and best of all —-Fast!!!
The digital delay has 7 settings. Three knobs for setting the tone. Mix, delay, regeneration. Easy to control your tone, but the knobs are micro sized. But this is a micro boutique petal, so it was expected. So,get yourself a Negative DC center adapter along with a flashlight and magnifier for making knob adjustments

This pedal works quite nice and gives you plenty variations in sound. It is a sturdy, metal product and like will hold up . I am pleased with mine.
Ron c.
Another fine product from Donner I have a few other pedals the echo is really cool
Robert Perrine
I didn't know that it came without a power supply but a quick trip to my favorite music store solved the issue... Besides, a trip to the music store is a top ten event in my life anyway... Once I got it home, plugged it in, I couldn't believe the sound coming out of my Taylor 214!!! Well worth the money and trip to the music store.... Highly recommended purchase!
Leif O.
Great experience. I wasn't sure what to expect because I was not purchasing from one of my usual vendors. Shipping was fast and the delay pedal is outstanding. Thanks!
carlos m.
Very nice little pedal, it ship fast and the sound is great! Love it!
Mace P.
This pedal sounds GREAT! I'm a guitarist with 39 years of experience in all original bands, and this pedal satisfies my needs for a great soloing tone. But this pedal does add some color to your rig, in a GOOD way, so much that i use it as a tone shaping tool in my loop. I bought another delay for accual delay effect and it Dosent sound as good as the donner delay!!! Buy 2!!!
james w.
Great service....fast. Product is great and price is great
Anna Nycum
Great pedal for those who want to sample different delays! Easy to use, lots of fun sounds, perfect for beginners or pedal collector enthusiasts!
Luc1d OnE
For the price it's a great pedal.
Adam Stauffer
Good for the price
Taryn Ezell
Nice little pedal. Works great and I added it to my pedal board!
D. Kopis
I couldn't be happier with this bang-for-the buck purchase. I ran it through the effects loop of a high-end amplifier and the Donner sounds spectacular. the difference among the initial settings is a matter of warmth (EQ) but not much difference in texture. I've heard and used better reverse delays, but for the $$, it's handy, too ;)
astro
Donner makes some nice stuff. I have several pedals and they all sound great and are quiet. The pedals are small and fit nicely on a well packed board. Thanks to the afforda board guy on Youtube for doing demos of these pedals. It made a difference hearing the range of sound. I will checking out some more.
Customer
Love this delay pedal by Donner. Delay and other sounds are awesome and perfect sound for my acoustic guitar. Donner pedals are the best. I have 3 of them and they fit in my 15 " pedal board perfect. Easy and simple to use.
Upstate Al
With parameter adjustments and multiple settings there's a lot going on for the money The basic digital delay is worth the price of admission
Ken S.
Amazing sound and clarity out of this little device! Great value for the money!
Russell
Far as a Budget delay goes this is probably the best one I've owned. Sound wise it does some like some more expensive delays I've tryed. Ive had maybe a month(probably not that long)so I'll wait to comment on the durability of the thing. I would definitely recommend
Angela
Sound quality is awesome my husband loves it
Nathan Frohlich
works great, was not the exact echo I was looking for but still has some great features
Thomas H.
Great pedal! Very versatile. A lot of sounds out of such a tiny pedal. I particularly like the modulation setting. Two thumbs up! Get one, you won't regret it.
Heather A.
Really good for people that are looking into pedals for first time.
Wave Chan
Good value, just need to make sure you're using the correction Voltage if using a power Supply
Manny
It seems to do what it’s supposed to do. This was a gift for my grandson and I don’t know much about it but, hey they paid me three bucks to write this. Lol
Adam
Not a bad little product, as said make sure to have a 9volt plug in power supply (no batteries). Good for bedroom practice.
VonBach
I've replaced my full-sized Digitek DigiDelay with this little jewel. It took me only a couple of minutes to listen to the various settings and dial in the TAPE setting I wanted. Wow...really nice and easy and it sounds just like I expected it to sound. The Digital setting is crisp and true. Difference between Analog and Tape is subtle...both are usable. I'm not interested in the other settings...have no use for Reverse, MOD, Sweep, or LoFi, so can't comment on those. But it does what I bought it for, perfectly. Love it!
bbb
Definely value for your money, gets the job done.
Customer
Works well. My son is a beginner guitar player and this has worked well for him.
debbie snook
This pedal is a ‘no brainer’... especially coupled with the cost! Very versatile! FUN FUN FUN
Paul Barbuto
A few of the settings don't sound all that different to me but there are some interesting ones that I didn't see on other affordable digital delays, I mostly use the "mod" setting.
Erika Carrillo
Muy Versatil,y exelente en sonido
Tom Poynter
Love it, I use it with a electric cello...a little echo always helps
PandorasBoxx007
Great price, needed a second delay for atmospheric textures.
john s.
I love Donner pedals- best $30 I ever spent!
jp
Bought this pedal on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Good sound and versatile. Do recommend.
Cuda75
It is a good pedal for the money. Lots of features including an analog delay for a softer shaped sound. The delay itself is not the greatest I've heard but certainly passes.
Scott Wharton
A fantastic little delay pedal at a great value.
Garett
Great mini delay pedal. Has very nice tones and veracity to dial in just what you want. Like all Donner pedals its well built.
Brad
This pedal works great! The sound is clean with no noise when switching on and off. Lots of options to play with. Solid construction. Smaller than I expected which saves space on pedalboard. All around great buy. I will be purchasing more Donner pedals.
esteban navarro
It is very fun to play around with, and try to get different sounds. For the price the best on the market
Joey P.
I have no complaints!!
Christopher M. Gauthreaux
Compact yet amazing sound quality
Andrew R.
It's a small delay pedal that sounds great and gets the job done for cheap. I have really enjoyed mine.
Alexander Vigil
It’s aight
Luke
Honestly, these cheap little pedals are always the best bang for your buck. Sure, they're not crazy good, but it has a true bypass and digital effects to play around with. The target audience is the bedroom player, anyone looking to play a gig can spend more to get more. This little guy can handle all your needs at home though.
Mike
Good buy for the price
Joshua M.
Absolutely love this delay. It does exactly what you need a Delay pedal to do. You got to love Donner too for making this extremely affordable for every player out there. Excellent value for the money and very versatile for my sounds.
Jesse N.
My first pedal purchase did not show up due to an error on behalf of USPS, and Donner compensated me with another free shipment of the exact same pedal. They went above and beyond most other companies to ensure that I, the customer, was satisfied. I am truly grateful for their extra effort and customer service. Correspondence with Donner was fast and very easy. Not to mention, their products are definitely worth it and more! Thanks Donner!
