About the same as the one I had 25 yrs ago. It's not the cheapest, or the most expensive, came with everything I needed. If you're a beginner, never played, or you used to play back in the day, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing Flute Book 1 - Essential Elements for band. You'll be playing tunes the same day!

This flute is fairly decent for a beginner who is self teaching after only having played once before! As expected, the little cloths, gloves, and stand are okay at best but the flute is better than I expected. Sure, the sound quality is not as good as a thousand dollar flute and it's probably a bit more difficult to play the right notes but it suffices for playing the flute as a hobby.

What a fantastic flute and package!
This is a great quality beginner’s flute however it is at home in the hands of a more experienced flautist.
In addition to the instrument being well balanced, constructed and padded, it has has all the accessories you need to maintain and clean it.
The case is a soft sided case with lots of padding for protection and also pockets for your small needs.

Great quality for such a cheap flute. I played in high school and the pads on my old flute were shot. I wanted something I could use for my recordings .. I'm an independent songwriter and musician. This flute fit the bill. It's every bit as good as my student flute from school. It's been 36 years since I played so all halftones and airiness are due to my lack of playing. The video is all audio. I played down to the low C and just above the 2nd C to a D and in the mid tones so you can hear how it sounds in all the octaves. I'm more than pleased.

I've had the flute for about a week and I'm a complete beginner and have learned to make some notes with it, but too embarrassed to show everyone.. lol!!! I appreciated that it came with all he accessories and I've been watching youtube tutorials on how to play. I'm still in the very starting stage and haven't practice much, but look forward to it each tie I try it out. This is certainly a good value on something, you may or may not know if would like. Also I found out you can spend a bunch of money on flutes and this will be a good starting point, but if you go further along, definitely and upgrade..

The flute comes very well packed in the case. It has black plastic protectors over the joints and little foam wedges to prevent the keys from moving during shipping: that's great attention to details. Just don't forget to remove those foam wedges before playing!
The case is Nylon with a hard shell interior. It closes with a zipper, some might have preferred a hard shell with clasps for faster opening, but the case has advantages of its own: it has a zippered pocket to keep smaller accessories like the cleaning cloth or screwdriver without them touching the flute while stored. The case comes with a detachable shoulder strap which is nice when you have your hands full.
The included stand is a nice touch, although I have never used a flute stand before. The legs fold into the body for compactness and it will fit in the accessory pocket of the case showing only a little bulk.
Obviously I can't comment on how well it will hold over time, but this is impressive for the price and I love all the attention to details.
This is a great flute for kids starting the instrument (through the school band for example). Why invest in an instrument 10x the price when you don't know if the kid is going to stick with it? Unlike buying used, this comes looking great and in tiptop shape, and easy returns.

I was nervous buying a flute online, mostly because my husband was against it but this flute has been great so far. It was accepted by my daughter’s elementary school and she has only had a couple classes so far but the flute works great. I’m so happy I decided to give it a chance. Great flute for the price and for a child starting out with it for the first time. The case is great for taking back and forth to school and it comes with a cleaning cloth and rod. I definitely recommend it for a first time player that you don’t want to spend tons of money on.

This flute is amazing I’ve been playing flute 2 years now. I had a gemehahardt flute In the passed and it had so many issues . This flute is truly amazing I was able to hit all low notes (including c ) and all my scales played beautifully. It also has a great case and cleaning supplies. It was designed perfectly! I would definitly recomend it to beginners or experts. My band director definitly approves.

I got this because as a music therapist I thought it would be nice to potentially use with future clients. With a $70 price tag it was certainly worth the purchase. It comes with a case, stand, cleaning rag/glove that immediately adds value and the flute itself sounds pretty good. I had my friend (flute primary in college) try it out and she was impressed with the the action, the proper seal for the keys, and the ease of sound production which would be helpful for a beginner.

This is a really good quality flute for a student. The flute sounds great and is packed with ultimate precision. I tried Mendini flute earlier which I had to return due to faulty keys. This is cheaper and value for money.

after purchasing this we did a side-by-side with a flute we purchase from a store this is a $1,200 flute not the most expensive food on the market of course but it was a name brand flute. After receiving the item my son brought it to his band teacher to evaluate to see if it was suitable for use. She said it was a good flute, he's been using it for a few months and has had no issues. She did find out it wasn't a name brand flute and said he would be better off having a name brand flute. but that's exactly why I didn't want her to know one way or another if it was brand or no brand but just her opinion without any biased. It is a good flute and it sounds great don't waste your money on rentals or extremely expensive purchases. This will last for a year to then you can just buy another one. I wouldn't worry after the pads go out. I would just replace. But for the price you're still saving plenty of money.

Purchased this as a back up flute for my teenage daughter. She plays in school, but this year will be virtually.. so I decided to get a more affordable model, and store away her expensive one.
I do really like this flute. I like the non tarnishing nickel plating finish (she luckily has no allergy to this metal).her expensive silver plated flute tarnishes somewhat.

She’s getting good color from the low notes, and the high notes are also lovely.. it’s even better than We expected, it Somewhat compares to her expensive model and at this price.. very impressed!
Very pleasantly surprised, it’s a little heavier than her other flute, but she has gotten use to it Rather quickly. It’s also quite lovely looking I might add, has a high quality look and feel to it.

I haven’t played a flute since middle school - my band teacher bought one for me because of my passion for it and unfortunately it was stolen from my home shortly after... I gave up on the flute then but never the passion. I now have two children and I love having instruments around them. I saw this and the price point couldn’t be beat! I was so excited to see how nice it was and how well it works! I was astounded at how much I remembered! I purchased the book i used back then and it’s all just coming back! I now enjoy just playing for my kids and seeing the joy it brings them too. Very pleased with the quality, sound, and product for the price point. It’s a perfect beginners flute and will be great for teaching my children when they are old enough to learn. Arrives quickly and was packed with care.

I love this instrument. It's also been a challenge to learn but I like that. I'm new to even touching a flute so I honestly don't know what is good or bad but so far it's been all good. It also seems to be built well. I was going to get the open hole version but the price was so good, I had no problem getting this one and then getting the open hole soon. I definitely would recommend this flute. I will buy more instruments from eastar. I've already decided the next instrument that I will try.

After only having the flute for less than 2 months, it's already messing up. It was brand new, out of the box, hasn't been dropped or mistreated in any way, and some of the keys aren't playing. Showed it to the music teacher, and he can't figure it out either. Very disappointed.

There is nothing to dislike about this flute. I bought it to replace my much loved 45+ year old flute which is beyond economic repair. I am not a professional flute player, but in my opinion, it has a lovely tone. It comes in a lightweight case with the bottom section for the instrument and the top section to house the very generous supply of cleaning rod, pull through cloth for the long section, polishing cloth and gloves plus a very useful foldup stand. Fantastic value for money. Being cupro nickel, careful cleaning of the outside will pay dividends, but this should not be a put-off factor. Perhaps suitable for a beginner or someone like me who plays in a Church music group. This is one very pleased and delighted puirchaser.

This Eastar flute comes with a soft case, zippered, and with a pouch for the accessories. The accessories include a strap that hooks onto the case, a flute stand, a cleaning rod and cloth, an additional cloth for cleaning the outside of the flute, white gloves, joint covers, and a tiny screwdriver. The tone of the flute is better than the average beginner’s flute. It is easy and smooth to reach the lowest C and the highest G with comparable effort. The only negative is that some music stores will not work on an off-brand flute should it need repairs down the road. It would be a good alternative to renting a flute, and probably less expensive, for a beginner to see if they will stick with it. I am a senior citizen who has played flute since jr high school and recommend this flute.

I played the flute when I was younger and my daughter has expressed a desire to learn. I got this kit as it has everything needed to get started as a beginner. It is really easy to put together. It arrived with little cork pieces to protect the pipe from the keys so be sure to remove them when you are ready to play.

Wonderfully packed for shipping! Keys on flute were corked shut before being placed into the carry case so not to be damaged in shipping. Everything company said would be included was. This flute is perfect for my 10 year old to start band with! Her teacher even said it is a nice flute, and couldn't believe I had not paid more for it. It has a good sound to it. I am an avid flute player, this flute is not as good of quality as my $500 flute, HOWEVER it is a very nice flute for beginners or someone who is just needing a decent flute at a decent price for enjoyment!
