I don't use amplifier FX loops for my pedal board. I run 'em inline to the amp input as normal, and use the FX loop for the noise gate ONLY. It is MUCH more efficient, usable, and especially easier to dial in this way. Try it with whatever gate you're using now, ya mite like it!
This li'l Donner noise gate is easily the best one under $50 that I've run across, too. Does what's advertised very well, and is 99.7% silent in operation. It was bonehead easy to find the sweet spot, too!
I currently have three, btw. They're all in regular rotation here @ Bear Bones Productions in beautiful Meridian, Idaho, too!

Use the Donner noise killer in my pedal board to eliminate any noise created by wires, guitar or any of the pedals in the board.
It works great, and can be adjusted based on the guitar or bass you use.

I play a lot of high gain heavy metal using a EVH 5150 combo. The Noise Killer pedal is built extremely well and it’s performance has quite the hiss from my amp. I absolutely love my new pedal!! Donner also has amazing customer service! I thought I had an issue with shipping so I reached out to them and they responded to my question quickly.

I have a great 5-string bass that has just a little bit of hum / buzz when on and not touching the strings. I read tons of reviews before settling on this pedal and I am extremely please with the choice. No need for anything more expensive. The adjustment controls are just right. I needed a simple gate to kill thebhiss from my high gain amp(6505+ With a od boost pedal) This inexpensive lil gem works amazing well. Is super simple to calibrate. It comes in a boutique style box with foam padding surrounding it as well as foam padding protecting the dial switch. Very sturdy, its got some heft to it, and its basically plug and play. U dont have to learn all the dials like on the old boss gate (not that that ones bad) i like simple. But not cheap! Get one if ur in the need for one and see for urself. And to thinkni was looking at a gate for over 100

I had used a Boss Noise Gate for 15 years. It seemed to be wearing out the last 2. So i decided to replace it but I didnt want to spend a lot. This pedal is smaller and seems to have more control over cutting the noise. I really love it. I keep it mostly on. I'm thinking this isn't the gate if you are gonna be turning it on and off and stomping on it with boots. Otherwise it is perfect for big live shows and doing its job.

Da ich sehr leistungsfähige Humbucker, teilweise auch im Coil-Split spiele und zudem auch mehr im High-Gain unterwegs bin, war ich auf der Suche nach einem Noise Gate, welches unerwünschte Nebengeräusche meines Verzerrers und das typische Single-Coil Brummen beseitigt. Mit dem Noise Koller von Donner kann man da nicht viel falsch machen. E-Gitarre => SG Standard Kopie mit Mojotone Elektronik und zwei Seymour Duncan SH-8 Invadern Pedalboard-Aufbau: Tuner => Compressor => ABY Pedal => Weg A => Verzerrer => Noise-Gate => Weg B => Verzerrer => Modulation => beide Wege gehen in ein Reverb => und vom Reverb weiter Stereo in ein ABY Pedal => Amp Ohne den Noise Killer hatte ich immer Rauschen von der Zerre im Weg A auch wenn B aktiv ist. Der Noise Killer räumt das komplett raus und wenn die Gitarre schweigt, schweigt alles. Ich nutze den Hard-Modus, der Soft-Modus macht für mich nur einen minimalen Unterschied. Sustain geht nicht verloren. Perfekt, genial, ich bin zufriden.

I have several fuzz and overdrive pedals that give horrible buzz when turned up but aren’t being used. This little guy does exactly what it says- it kills the noise as soon as the actual tone dies out. I usually have it on a quick noise kill but you can also have it fade. It is quite smart about respecting actual tones, it is in a very sturdy case, and is very affordable. I’m super happy about this pedal.

Love your noise gate. I put it in after the wah wah but before the compressor...(which creates a bunch of noise. ) the control is simple: just one knob. It's on all the time. In run a stereo rig and it really helps. Probably will get your looper next, If you had a Pitch shift/detuner stereo pedal, like the Electro Harmonix That would be great! Or even a stereo chorus like the Boss CE3? D dithering to think about. Overall....Great stuff at fair prices

If you have a guitar with single coils you need a noise gate, especially if they're P90's and/or it's a tube amp. It's so nice to have the amp go dead quiet when you stop playing. Love it!

This pedal tunes my guitar accurately which is just about all you can ask for out of a tuning pedal but the one major caveat is that the LED lights that indicate flat, in tune, or sharp are so bright they could be used to guide ships to land. Seriously, it’s so bright it’s hard to read the letters on the actual screen.

I bought the noise gate and it was working fine. I saw a deal on an electro harmonics the silencer. Replaced the donner with the more expensive pedal. I immediately put the donner back in the chain. The other pedal had a noisy tail no matter what I did. The less expensive donner worked perfectly.

I’ve got a boost pedal that doesn’t seem to like any power plug I use with it it always has this eltric eeeeeee when not playing so I bought donner noise killer set it with pretty low setting and the horrible noise from my other pedal is gone so the donner noise pedal works perfect for me amazing

I haven't had much chance to test the noise killer, as it isn't necessary on the electrical circuit I've used most frequently, but it does do the job on those that are noisy.

For the price I paid it does all I need it to do. Sometimes has a noticeable effect on sustain when other pedals such a flange are in use. The knob is a little sensitive has to be turned just between noon and one o’clock to get the right amount of noise reduction without killing sustain…if it’s a hair too far it will kill all sustain. But I’ve gotten used to it and mainly only use it when overdrive pedals are kicked on while playing my Strat so I mainly set the knob accordingly for those pedals when I sound check and it really does a pretty nice job of killing the hum. Pretty good value for the money and seems sturdy.

Bought this in preparation for purchasing a couple of Revv amps. I have a great deal of EMI in my house, and normally run an OD with a built in noisegate. This worked exactly as I'd hoped. Put in the effects loop, set to soft, and set the knob at -40. Done.

It does lower the noise from my noisy Stratocaster pickups, but I did have to turn the gate switch pretty far up to cancel any buzz from my distortion pedal. In summary, it does what it’s supposed to!

Can't review something I never received.. still. Bought bogo sale and recieve my free compressor pedal but no noise gate. Donner was very prompt and looked into it and guess it never went out because it was supposed to be together with it. They said they would send a replacement and they did... Of the free compressor pedal AGAIN.. still no noise gate and I am over it and whatever at this point. There pedals are good and reliable for cheap but I don't know what happened here not once but twice and not goin for three.. I'm out

So far this noise gate works really really well. The only time I get significant breakthrough is if I stack a distortion pedal on a fuzz pedal but aside from that I'd say that it works about as well as you could wish it to. The price really added to the overall value as I have seen other gates at least twice the price and a few in excess of a hundred bucks. It's compact, easy to use, and it works. What else can you ask of it?

This is the 1st noise gate I've ever bought and it might be the last!. My house isn't grounded and I get some annoying hum from my bass amp. This pedal works great!. The only con is it does affect the sustain a little but not too much. It's a great value for the price!

Just getting back into music. Bought the Donner Blues driver and the Tuti Chorus. Was getting a lot of hum and cackle coming through. Just bought the Noise Killer and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. IT also allowed me to do more tuning to the Blues Driver to get a better sound. There's a few more pedals I'll be picking up.

The full volume kill on this happens if you try to go past noon. That makes this useless for all but clean rigs. Unfortunate, but it doesn't match up with any other fate in the market right now. It does work, but only in limited fashion.

This pedal does just what I wanted it to do. By putting it at the end of the chain of pedals, it gets rid of any noise from any of the pedals before it. Many of the B1on sounds contain a lot of hiss or hum. This pedal cleans the sound nicely before it hits the amp. I use for both electric guitar and electric bass and it works well with both.
