So I bought this guitar for a childhood friend. We were band mates in the 90's. He is retired but still jams on his guitars. I couldn't buy it in time for his birthday, but it delivered in 3 days? no worries it was a home run! he was blown away by just being able to play it right out of the box. All the features are what he loved. He can take this thing everywhere he said. He played me a couple tunes over the phone. It was a great moment for a 35 year friend ship.

I was a bit uneasy, feeling that the pickup would be a bit too hot, but running the guitar through my pedal board and DI box directly into the soundboard provided excellent quality sound! I know this is supposed to be just a "practice" guitar, but I will definitely be using this in live performances. The acoustic quality of the guitar is fantastic, and once I got used to the balance of the guitar, it played much more comfortably than the true acoustic I had been using. It fits my needs perfectly, and I absolutely love the quality, craftmanship, and sound of this guitar!
Patrick T.
Nice travel guitar. Fretboard action spot on to other acoustics I own. Quiet when not wired, headphone sound is good when played. Works great when jacked into my effects processors and amp. Not as full-bodied sounding as a dreadnought sized guitar. Regardless, nice addition to my guitar collection offering a nice sound profile all its own. I'm glad I purchased.

I have it and love it, travel, practice, kids sleeping no problem.

I have my Hush 1 right here next to me! It's fantastic!
Derek
Got the Hush 1 piezo acoustic. Good quality, good value,
but the setup is lousy. Action out of the box was insultingly high. I sanded a couple millimeters off the bridge and filed the string nut slots and NOW it's a nice-playing instrument.
Jason C.
This is a great travel guitar and even just a good guitar. The neck is not very wide, so I had a little trouble with hitting incorrect strings not being used to the smaller width of the Hush.
That said, this sounds great through earphones, or an amp, and really cannot be beat for the price.
Derk DeVries
So I bought one. I’ve been playing overall about ten years and I travel a lot for work. I also have a Traveler Speedster Hot Rod I used to use exclusively for travel. Here’s what I found. I had to remove the nylon bridge insert and sand it down about ten mils to get the correct height for the action. The neck was crazy bowed, but was corrected with the truss rod adjustment to tolerable action.
Thoughts in general…. For me it is a way more playable model than the Traveler guitar. It is actually quite ingenious on the body attachments which are way more comfortable (for me) than the Traveler. It stays in tune decently. Another advantage is the headphone jack is on the top and doesn’t get bumped into by my leg like the Traveler guitar does which has the headphone jack on the bottom. The case is waaay more robust than the Traveler also
Conclusion - I use the Donner now for all my work travel. Hope this helps.
Hal H.
Exactly what it was advertised to be, unique and a great guitar for the price, sounds great.
Michael C.
I wanted to start learning but without disturbing the entire house. This looked like a great option because it appeared to be pretty silent. It arrived and was everything hoped for. It can plug into an amp or headphones. It is really high quality construction. It looks and feels great. If you're looking for a travel/practice guitar that won't break the bank and works as advertised this is the guitar for you...
Raymond M.
The guitar is awesome quality work! The idea behind it is wonderful! I'm planning on taking it to an open mic this Thursday, plus I'll be live video of me playing it and showing all the musicians the beautiful sound.
I just wish I could have afford the upgrade with the humbucker pickups. I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH IT!
Larry D.
Great sound and very easy to play
tom p.
Great for beginners like me! For the price and convenience, it’s perfect
Sherry Z.
This is a fun little guitar for me to try to learn on, I am thoroughly enjoying it!
Chad M.
I’ve really been enjoying this thing. There are a few issues that I don’t care for. First, the action is very high even after adjustment. Second, it seems to crackle quite a bit when plugged in. The sound through headphones and amp aren’t that of a high quality guitar. Third, I wish they’d made the frame rails attach and detach with ease like the electric model. Despite these issues, I’ve really enjoyed the guitar for its portability. It’s a fun little instrument and is highly playable despite the high action!
Niels C.
I received the Hush guitar about a week ago and have had some time to play with it. My impression is very good, clean sound in headphones and amp, smooth fingerboard, low action. I wanted a small guitar to practice with while travelling and I believe it will work just fine. I play an acoustic guitar so it is a significant adjustment to play this but it is very good for what it is designed for! Niels C
James G.
I like it and use it alot for practice just sitting in the recliner.
Joseph S.
Great product terrible customer service.
david b.
I was surprised at how nice this plays and how nice the sound is even WITHOUT the headphones. This guitar has a very nice feel to it, and the fit and finish is great. Easy to tune, and holds the tune very well. This entire purchase has been better than I could have hoped for, good response from Donner, fair price, good quality of build, playability and accessories.
Thanks folks!
Hooman G.
Far exceeded my expectations. I mainly use it during my down time at work inside a vehicle. I can play backing tracks from my phone through the guitar's passthrough and then output both to my car's stereo system. It is absolutely awesome! I can get great practice now any time I want. The setup actually was great right out side the box. I may lower the action a tiny bit but honestly it doesn't really need it. The gig bag it comes with is perfect. It has every thing you need from picks, wiping cloth, tuner, alan wrench etc. A lot of thought went into this product and it's greatly appreciated!
Timothy S.
A good guitar to practice with. I had to adjust the neck a bit upon arrival. I would like it more if the metal rails folded in, rather than having to be unscrewed to be removed (Or provide a case that will accommodate the installed rails). Also, the tuning is cumbersome, having to use a wrench to turn the tuning knobs. I have not plugged it into an amp. That will be the test. In head-hones it sounds fine. It is what it is. One last note...There are very limited locations as to where to clamp on a turner.
Jungwon Y.
#MIYAVI It’s my 10-year-old son’s first guitar and we just love it! The sound, the design, and even the fact that it’s silent, and so on.. We are glad to find it!
Susan M.
I bought this for my boyfriend of almost 3 years for Christmas… he is so talented!!! He has a God given gift of playing by ear!!! And can play any instrument he picks up ❤️ I bought this guitar so he could take it with us camping…. To keep the sound of music in our soul .. Hope he loves it … he looked at it about 6 months ago !! Thank you so much for your fast delivery !!! Can’t wait to see his face when he opens it and especially can’t wait to hear him play
Dan G.
This guitar is portable but it needed lots of work to be playable. The neck had to be straightened, and the string action was too high. The tuner that came with the guitar won’t clip on anywhere. The tuners are a cruel joke. Sounds best played through an iRig and the Tonebrige app. That said, I did get to take it on the airplane and it worked for practice on vacation. Great idea, but weak execution.
Brian W.
I'm an experienced player, and ordered the Hush 1 to be able to practice during extended travel out of the country. After unboxing and trying out my Hush 1, I was immediately ready to return it. The action was so high I considered it unplayable. However, there was so much about it that was well-designed and attractive, I decided to wait and see if I could make a difference doing set-up adjustments myself. Because the Hush is a one-piece, neck-through instrument, the neck has no relief or tilt away from the body as on most instruments, resulting in the strings being extremely high. I shaved the bridge saddle considerably and adjusted the truss rod for a slight convex neck curvature, resulting in a reasonably pliant action.
That part aside (and it's a big one) the Hush 1 is a brilliant design for what it is--a simple, compact, portable, travel-tough, silent practice guitar. The headless design is finished with a metal hanging loop; the tuners are accessible but protected in a rear cutaway. The detachable metal body "wings" are attractive and may be useful for holding the guitar in one's lap (I use a strap and don't use 'em). The location of the strap buttons is awkward, making the guitar slightly neck-heavy; and the use of the cable input socket as a rear strap button doesn't work because it's too big--I will replace it with a standard strap button. Sound quality of the piezo and on-board preamp through the supplied ear-buds is uninspiring but adequate for practice. A few basic effects like reverb would be nice.
It's unfortunate that some of the manufacturing and finish details of the Hush-1 don't live up to the instrument's brilliant design. Donner should invest more in these details, especially the action, even if it meant a slightly higher price, and it would have a very fine travel and silent practice guitar.
Harry N.
Very light, one of the strings needed a little bit of oil or lube. It was a little rough to slide
Earl E M.
The packaging was great and arrived quickly.
It came with guitar, side slats, earphones, picks, tuner, straps, allen key (basically everything it says it does)
It plays great. I played it through the headphones and it has a nice clean sound. I also played it though pedal board with a 1/4 " The sound is excellent and sounded roughly equal to my Epiphone Les Paul.
The tuning knobs are a bit stiff and its easier to tune up with the allen key but can be done wihtout it. It has held tuning very well even with new strings.
The travel case is fantastic and small. It would fit in a hiking pack but would stick out of a regular backpack. with the provided strap it is easy to carry.
Overall I am very satisfied. Other people have played it and were really surprised how well it plays.
Mike W.
I travel alot with a gear bag hotel bag and paper work book bag. I recently purchased a hush guitar to add to my gear and practise on the road. wow small compact easy to carry. doesn't take up very much room. sounds great. thanks guys great product
Mark L.
Better than expected
Easy to play easy to use
I plug it int a small amplified speaker

I have never been happier then I am with this hush guitar kit It is everything that they say it is and then some. I really could not beleave how well consturcted it is....looks as good as pictured sounds even greater then I
would have thought....I am not blowing smoke it really is....I am
getting ready to order another item..... I will let you all know how it goes...I'm sure with what I have seen and have already I will not be disponted.....
ANTHONY S.
Very good guitar for the price. Seems well built. Clever ideas like the magnetic allen key and guitar outline pieces to make it easy to hold.
You need to make a bass now.
JAY M.
I just picked it up this afternoon,I took it and had everything adjusted
And it is fantastic
Mark T.
Perfect travel instrument and I don't mind saying the"silent" feature has saved my relationship.
But the most surprising thing is the sound that comes out of the HUSH-1!
I was thinking I would need a suitcase full of electronics to make this weird-looking little guitar concert ready... but was I wrong...
The DONNER HUSH-1 has better tone than my go-to acoustic (which is 4 times the price of the HUSH-1).
Thanks DONNER!
I don't know how you do it for so little money, but, it's the best value, quality, and just smiles all around!!!

I'm very happy with my Hush-1 travel Guitar.
the customer service is excellent.

Added this little beauty to the collection! I’m headed out on an airplane next week and it’s coming with me! Plays like an acoustic. You listen with headphones. The top and bottom frames come off and pack away in the case. It’s a sweet travel solution!
Clark R.
I knew when I purchased the Hush-I that I would need to adjust the action. In fact, most new guitars need at least a little bit of a setup. The wound strings are also a bit squeaky, but so are many wound acoustic strings, especially when they are new. Once I adjusted the action at the saddle and the strings were broken in a little, the Hush-I plays very nicely! I usually play with a strap, so I only rarely attach the upper and lower body pieces. While it won't take the place of my regular acoustic, this seems ideal for travel, and I have some of that coming up.
Gary G.
Unfortunately I had a return this terrific product because it is felt my granddaughter was too young for it right now. I agreed once I realized she is actually interested in flute or clarinet. It’s important that talk with everyone before selecting a musical instrument for gift. Hope to come back to this in a few years.
Larry Knudson
I actually own one and have had it for quite a while now. I love the thing! My wife and I own our own trucking company and are team truck drivers. I can be in our truck waiting at a shipper/receiver, plug my earbuds and my iPad into it, play a backing track or lessons, and jam to my hearts content without bothering my wife while she is off shift and sleeping right on the other side of a curtain. (Hence one plausible reason a person might want a “silent guitar”.) It’s nice and compact so I occasionally even play it going down the road while she is driving. Came with a very nicely padded soft case that keeps it safe when stowed away for traveling. When home I typically play one of my numerous other guitars but this is absolutely PEFECT for my intended use. I only have two wish list items for improvement. One, it would be nice if the body pieces were a quick release for easy on/off, as it is I never use them. Two, it would be really cool if it were Bluetooth capable (output and input each independent) as the cords are constantly a pain due to having to use wired earbuds and hardwire to an iPad.
Tommy
I bought this guitar with the intention of sparing my wife from having to endure my not-yet-perfected guitar skills. As a beginner of over 10 years, I already own two other acoustic guitars, but Donner is my first solid body guitar. My initial impression of the entire kit was that it's an excellent choice for beginners, as it comes with everything from a tuner to picks. The gig bag is well-made, featuring plenty of cushions and adequately sized compartments to keep all your gear organized in one place. One standout feature is that the kit includes batteries for both the guitar itself and the tuner, saving you the hassle of buying them separately.
The guitar itself is crafted with high-quality materials and feels very well-made. The tuning pegs turn smoothly and responsively, making tuning a breeze. Within minutes of opening the box, I was able to start playing. I've even included a video with this review to give you an idea of its sound from the audience's perspective. It's not too quiet, but with a closed door in a room, others shouldn't hear it too loudly. However, I must admit that the promotional video is a bit misleading—it might wake a sleeping baby if you start strumming nearby.
Now, let me share my thoughts on how it feels to actually play the guitar. Keep in mind that I'm just a beginner, so take my opinions with a generous grain of salt. I found the included guitar-shaped metal piece to be somewhat impractical. Attaching and screwing it into place takes a few minutes, and without the screws, the bottom piece can rotate and occasionally come off. Since I take this guitar with me to work daily for 15-20 minute sessions, the attachment process eats into my playing time, especially when I want to play fingerstyle while sitting down.
The guitar strap is included, but the attachment holes are standard size, and one of the attachment points on the guitar doubles as an output jack, making it larger in diameter than normal. This made attaching the strap a bit challenging, and I ended up leaving it attached all the time, even when storing it in the carrying bag. Unfortunately, this caused the bag to not close properly if I wasn't careful, and the metal buckle on the strap ended up scratching the guitar while in transit.
The weight distribution of the guitar is also a bit unusual for me. The two connection points of the strap are very close together, making the neck feel much heavier than the body. As a result, I find myself holding up the neck even during brief pauses, which can be tiring.
Lastly, the guitar's shape doesn't offer many options for placing your palm while picking or doing light strumming. While it's not overly difficult to get used to, I thought it was worth mentioning.
Despite these cons, the few pros of this guitar outweigh them all. It's compact, lightweight, and incredibly easy to transport. It appears to be durable, and I can practice almost anywhere, anytime. Plus, the price is reasonable, making it a great option for beginners.
If you're considering this guitar, I suggest considering whether your situation is similar to mine and if the issues I've mentioned are things you can tolerate or adapt to. However, I can honestly say that I have no regrets about buying this guitar, and I hope my review has been helpful to you. Cheers, everyone!

I filed down my saddle a bit and this plays wonderful.

Bought the Donner Hush-1 travel guitar. It's beautiful and stylish. The set-up was great right out of the box. Didn't have to do any tweaks other than tune it. Love the asymmetrical neck. I never knew I needed one till now! The earphones and tuner were a very nice touch along with the case and duel use strap. It really is a complete package. If you get yelled at for practicing a lot at home, buy one! The earphones are really good! They pick up nuances better than most of the other small headphones I own. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend the Donner Hush-1 travel guitar. Small enough to take everywhere, silent enough to play in a room full of TV zombies.
Steve H.
Decent practice guitar. Sound is good not great but it’s a practice guitar.
Maria Kells K.
I appreciate the dedication to detail with the tuner, earphones, accessories pockets in the case, etc. It’s a total game changer to be able to practice guitar every night without my family complaining! Wish I’d had this years ago!
MICHAEL P.
Hello, lots of jam in this ham. Any ideas of a stand for it? Thx!

Bellísima guitarra
Un sonido bastante bello, brillante y ligeramente profundo en los bajos, el diseño de la guitarra es espectacular, la guitarra ensamblada es resistente pero debe ser tratada con cuidado.
Isaac Mitchell
Not only does this guitar sound amazing, but it also looks incredibly nice. It's super cute and adds a stylish touch to my performances.
Carter Young
This guitar is great for practicing at home. I can add effects without needing an amp and it's perfect for late-night practice sessions without disturbing others.
Julian Allen
I've owned guitars that cost three times as much as this one, and I can honestly say that the sound quality of this guitar is just as good, if not better. It's an incredible value for the price.
Paisley Anderson
This guitar is a hidden gem. It has an impressive sound quality that rivals much more expensive guitars. It's a great instrument for beginners and experienced players alike.
ANTHONY T.
smooth transaction. item arrived in prestine condition. i probably order again in the near future for sure.
Jackson Bennett
I am absolutely thrilled with this guitar. It surpassed my expectations and has quickly become my favorite. It's a truly great guitar in every aspect.
Bruce P.
Very interesting design - seriously clever engineering. Action was a bit high out of the box but that was easily remedied with the truss rod adjustment and sanding down the bridge about 1/16".
I give it 3 stars however, because the lower "bout" mounts at an odd angle. I've tried multiple times to reach Donner and have them send a replacement, but they do not respond. I've made a good number of purchases from Donner (mainly guitar pedals) but this will be my last if I don't hear back from customer service.
Maya Hernandez
The construction of this guitar is solid and well-made. It's clear that a lot of care went into making it. It feels sturdy and durable, and the setup was perfect right out of the box.
James Turner
I can't believe how good this guitar is for the price. The sound is fantastic, and the craftsmanship is impressive. It's definitely a hidden gem in the market.
Leah Allen
The setup of this guitar was perfect right out of the box. The action is just right and the intonation is spot on. It's clear that this guitar was made with attention to detail and precision.
Michael Davis
This guitar is easy to play and so light. Pre-amp sounds good to me. Assembly was easy and it comes well packaged. Perfect practice, travel, or light home studio guitar.
Neil Harmon
Paired with a SparkGO and it's the ultimate travel combo!
Hannah Allen
This guitar is simply amazing. The sound quality is top-notch, and it's an excellent choice for beginners. I've tried other guitars in this price range, and nothing comes close to the value this one offers.
jimqartworks
I love mine, very mobile, most of times I'm always invited to play for a party, gatherings or even memorial service, this guitar is light, easy to pack, and the piezo pick-up is great, good sounding, although the height of the action is a little high, but I managed to adjust the truss rod, awesome awesome for the price, I cant complain, 5 starts for me!
Rich Waterman
I got the maple one put new strings reworked the saddle piece . This guitar is awesome though my Donner cyclops battery amplifier All an all great guitar for the money. I’m happy. Totally battery powered unit guitar and amp… Donner power…
Kennedy Young
For the price, this guitar is unbeatable. The quality is outstanding, and it's a great option for anyone on a budget. The sound is fantastic, and it's a joy to play.
Jonathan Allen
The appearance of this guitar exceeded my expectations. It looks even better in person and has a beautiful design. Definitely a head-turner on stage.
Grant M.
The neck feels great. The action came high out of the box.
I wasn't aware this was going to use acoustic strings, but it's nice to play. There was a buzz on a single string all the way up and down the neck out of the box, even with the high action - so I'll be fixing that.
Aubrey Ward
I was blown away by how beautiful this guitar looks in person. The pictures don't do it justice. The design and craftsmanship are top-notch, and it's a true work of art.
Beth D.
Love the small size. I can use this guitar to practice anywhere. Shipping was very fast. No complaints at all.
Jonathan Turner
I can't believe how good this guitar sounds for the price. It has a warm and balanced tone that is perfect for a variety of playing styles. It easily competes with guitars that are double the price.
Scarlett Adams
I was pleasantly surprised by how well-made this guitar is. The craftsmanship is top-notch and it feels solid and durable in my hands.
Joshua Hernandez
I absolutely love the sound of this guitar. It has a rich and full tone that rivals guitars that are much more expensive. It's hard to believe the quality of sound you get for the price.

I bought this guitar specifically for travel and gigs, and it has not disappointed. It's lightweight and easy to carry around, making it a great choice for musicians on the go.

I ordered the Hush-I guitar and the package was lost by UPS. The Donner team was receptive and understanding of the situation. After review they sent me a brand new order. Thank you for the excellent customer service.
Ella Moore
This guitar not only sounds great, but it also looks stunning. The finish is flawless and the design is sleek and modern. I get compliments on its appearance every time I play it.
Daniel Young
The setup of this guitar worked perfectly for me, and I heard from others that they had similar positive experiences. It's great to have a guitar that is ready to play right out of the box.
Julian Gray
I can't say enough good things about this guitar. The sound is incredible, and it's hard to find anything that can compete with it at this price point. It's definitely a great guitar for beginners.
Lily Bennett
I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this guitar is to assemble and pack up. It's perfect for someone who wants a quality guitar that's easy to take on the go, without sacrificing sound quality or playability.
Ethan Evans
This guitar is really easy to disassemble and pack up, which makes it great for traveling musicians. It's durable enough to withstand the rigors of the road, yet lightweight and compact enough to fit in the trunk of a car.
Megan White
Assembling this guitar is a breeze. It comes with all the tools you need, and the instructions are easy to follow. It's great for anyone who wants a high-quality instrument that's easy to transport and set up.
Audrey Wright
I'm extremely satisfied with this guitar. The sound is incredible, and the quality surpasses anything I expected for the price. It's a great option for both beginners and experienced players.
Ariana Lewis
I am blown away by the value of this guitar. The quality for the price is unmatched, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great guitar on a budget. You won't be disappointed.
Michael H.
This strange-looking critter is BIG fun! Quality is very good! Sounds great though an amp, too. Very pleased, I am. My only whine is that I wish it had some sort of quick release system for the upper and lower brackets, so it wouldn't be such a time consuming process to put in its case.
Levi Wilson
This Donner hush is a great travel guitar. I previously owned a backpacker travel guitar and this is shorter in length, 32 inches without the case, 33 inches with the case, and you can plug it in. It makes a big difference if you are traveling on a plane. It has an innovative design with the tuning knobs making it more compact and it has the supplied hex wrench. The sound is decent plugged in with the supplied preamp. The only negatives I see are how the attachments are connected. I wish there was a simple plug an lock for these versus using the supplied screws to attach them. But when they are attached it provides the perfect feel of a full size guitar. The other minor issue is the neck is a 'D' shape making it thicker and I'm used to having 'C' shape necks on my other guitar providing faster play. It's all preference when it comes to the neck shape though. All in all still a wonderful guitar and I highly recommend it for musicians at any stage!
Dominic Martinez
I've taken this guitar on camping trips and it's so much fun to play around the campfire. It's also a hit at parties and adds a great musical element to the atmosphere.
Danny M.
I've got about 8 guitars of several types and costs from a few hundred dollars to fifteen hundred dollars. Of course some needed a much more extensive amout of setup than others. But I was very pleasantly surprised at the condition of this Hush-1 guitar right out of the box. The feel, playability, features, and accessories are exceptional and are as good or better than ones costing easily over a thousand dollars. It has become my primary instrument. I'm also very impressed with its ability to quickly convert back to a travel guitar. To me its up there with my $1,500 Gretsch 335 and new, fully carbon fiber $1,300 Lava Me 3 acoustic electric. Overall I am extremely impressed, and happy with this guitar and would highly recommend it to anyone whether a professional player or beginner.
Maximus Sallam
Great for beginners
Pros:
- The slim body is easy to hug like an electric but sounds and feels like an acoustic.
- Comes with everything you need to start. You won't need to buy anything else.
- Super ergonomic neck design makes playing way easier than with traditional necks.
- Sounds really good + not too loud when using headphones.
- lightweight, portable, and tiny.
Cons:
- The strap it comes with kinda sucks. The front strap mount is in an awkward spot on the neck and the rear strap mount goes over the guitar amp jack input hole which is a much bigger diameter than the actual strap hole. Although the strap doubles as a guitar strap and carrying case strap, you're better off getting a different strap for the guitar or not using a strap at all on the guitar, and only using the included strap as a carrying case strap.
- You have to use the Allen wrench to tune it. Tuning it with fingers alone isn't practical. It's not that big of a deal since the tool is stored in the guitar but I think the tuning pegs could have been better.
stephen Desmond
I got this because it will fit in a airline overhead, expecting a trip overseas. I am a semi pro player, and we have a band so I did not want to go without playing for 2 -3 weeks. So the good and the bad: It takes some getting use to with a headless guitar. Play it, get use to it. As above it did need set up, take it to a shop is you cant shave the nut and the saddle. I like a low action and it was near unplayable out of the box. I also dislike the strap button the jack goes through making it real hard to get the strap on it, but that is personal preference. I will add is in inconvenient to tune, tuner's don't want to clip on. It is great though as it is so small! The frettwork is passable if not good! Another plus is the reach you are able to get on the frettboard which is sort of crazy! I will add this if it got lost or stolen I would get another one. The case is better than expected and provides more protection than a standard gig bag. The guitar strap doubles as a case strap and it looks like a well thought out product. For the price it was not bad. I did not like the stock strings and one broke tuning it the first time, but hey not a big deal, again strings are a preference. I would NOT recommend this to a first time player. The sound is a little dirty in one of my amps and truth be told it is a cross between a electric and a acoustic which I sort of like!
Savannah Clark
For the price, this guitar is an absolute steal. The quality is surprisingly good, with solid craftsmanship and attention to detail. It feels like a much more expensive instrument.
Zachary Bell
I'm amazed at the quality of this guitar for the price I paid. It's well-made and feels solid in my hands. The sound is outstanding, and it's a great value for the money.

The neck on this guitar is incredibly comfortable to play. It's perfect for personal playing at home and I find myself grabbing it whenever I want to relax and have some fun.

TL;DR: The Donner Travel Guitar is an extremely unique product because of its very compact nature and portability. It is an electric guitar with a super small form factor that uses a 3.5mm jack to connect headphones/speakers in order to hear it. It has some basic audio adjustability with phase, volume, lows and highs. The shape is very narrow but has little metal attachments you can add to both sides to simulate the shape of a more traditional guitar. This product comes with everything you need right out of the box to play. Tuning can be quick tricky due to the back of guitar knobs instead of on the neck. If you are looking to jam on the road and do not want to disturb anyone else, this is a perfect option.
Pro’s:
~Everything included to play right out of the box
~Very small and portable
~Gig bag holds everything
~Sound is clear and adjustable
~Eye catching stylish design
Con’s:
~Very hard to tune because of the placement of the tuner knobs and need of an Allen wrench (included)
~No distortion option
~The screws used to attached the optional body wiring are magnetic and sometimes get stuck in the holes even after unscrewing them
~To hear the guitar, you need to be wired either by headphones or a 3.5mm cable to an amp. Placement of wire is a little awkward and no wireless/bluetooth options
Review:
When I first saw this product, I was very intrigued because I had never seen anything like it before. A silent electric guitar that is extremely portable. I have large acoustic guitars and traditional electric, but nothing the shape and size of this.
Out of the box:
The best part of this product is that it comes with everything you need right out of the box to play. Besides the guitar, it comes with a gig bag, left & right body attachments, adjustable shoulder strap, Allen wrench magnetically built into the guitar, tuner, guitar picks, wiping cloth, earphones, and user manual. After following the instructions, I was playing in no time.
Tuning:
I feel this deserves its own section because this was my biggest pain point. On a tuitional guitar, the tuning is at the top of the neck. To tune the guitar, you simply get into playing position, pluck a string with your strumming hand, then use your fret hand to adjust the sound. On the Donner Travel guitar, you tune with the same hand that you pick. So basically, you pick a string, have to move out of playing posture to reach back and try to turn the tuner knobs, then back into picking posture again. You have to do this over and over again until you finally get the right sound. And to make things even worse, you cannot just turn the knobs with your fingers. You might be able to if you are loosening the string, but most of the time when you tune, you are tightening the string and you have to use the Allen wrench included to tighten. The good news is, there is a little Allen wrench magnetically built into the guitar so you always have it with you. The overall tuning experience was very frustrating and not user friendly at all especially with new strings that need to be tuned frequently.
Playing and feel:
The playing experience was very good. Once I finally got the guitar tuned and the strings stretched out a bit, playing was quite fun. It truly felt just like an electric guitar. With the metal attachments, the guitar fit right on my lap as expected. The sound from the headphones were also very good. You can use any 3.5mm headphone you have but I used the included earbuds to get the full provided effect. I imagine the sound would be even better with a good pair of studio headphones. I used the high/low adjustment knobs to get the sound I was looking for and I was off jamming. One negative is since this is an electric guitar, I expected there to be a distortion option but there does not appear to be. The other issue I had while playing, is due to the wired headphones, the guitar rubbed on my chest while playing and it tugged at the headphones and almost fell out a couple of times. This could just require some getting used to.
Conclusion:
This is a fantastic instrument if you want to bring a guitar while traveling but don’t have the space for a large acoustic. Everything fits right in the gig bag snugly for easy transport. Setup only takes a couple of minutes from opening the bag to playing. My biggest issues are the tuning of the strings and the lack of distortion. The distortion can be fixed by plugging the guitar into an amp, but that sort of defeats the purpose of this guitar.

Very good all around from order to arrival and quality guitar.
